About the Awards

Congratulations to the 2009 WorkSafe Victoria Awards finalists and recipients!

 

Awards were presented to six recipients in front of almost 800 people at the WorkSafe Awards Dinner on Thursday 29 October at Crown Palladium.

                                                                                                  

A total of 118 entries were received for this year’s Awards. From this, 19 finalists were selected and from these the six Award recipients were chosen.

 

Behind each finalist and Award recipient is inventive thinking, dedication and a strong commitment to improving the safety of their colleagues and the wider community.

 

We commend all of the 2009 finalists and recipients for their outstanding achievements.

Health and Safety Representative of the Year - Phyl Hilton, Toyota Motor Corporation

Health and Safety Committee of the Year - RMIT - School of Aerospace, Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering

Best Solution to a Health and Safety Risk - Bendigo Regional Institute of TAFE (BRIT)

Best Solution for Preventing Musculoskeletal Injuries - Cherry Constructions and Workright Safety Solutions

Best Strategy for Health and Safety Management - Youth Justice Custodial Services - Department of Human Services

Best Design for Workplace Safety - Racing Victoria, Dan Mawby and Delta-V Experts

 

The entry process for the 2010 WorkSafe Victoria Awards opens at the end of February 2010. If you or someone you know has developed an initiative that you believe is worthy of recognition please register your interest online at worksafe.vic.gov.au/awards
